George Henry1
Pedigree Link
M, #457, b. 1760, d. April 1817
Biography
- Birth: George Henry was born in 1760.
- Note: Another researcher's thoughts regarding possible parentage of George Henry:
(1) Robert Henry (born 1767) was a surveyor and later became a lawyer. Robert's father-in-law (Robert Love) was prominent in the rise and fall of the State of Frankland, which Gov. Sevier attempted to establish out of what is now eastern Tennessee in 1785. Robert was on the 1781/82 Greene Co Tennessee census. Prior to 1838, Robert settled in an area which became Buncombe Co Robert is linked to Joseph Henry......prior to 1800 both were in Greene Co Tennessee and both later settled in Buncome Co North Carolina.
(2) Joseph Henry was born ca 1762. In 1790, Joseph gave his oath regarding Joshua English's deed recorded on page 174 of Greene Co Court Records....this area later became Cocke Co Tennessee. Joseph settled in Buncombe Co North Carolina and died there ca 1832.
Joseph is linked to George Henry (perhaps our Old George) because both gave their oaths regarding Joshua English's deed.
(3) George Henry (Old George born ca 1760) served in the Cocke Co Militia in 1798 and Cocke Co was formed from Greene Co Tennessee. Old George later settled in Calfkiller Community, White Co Tennessee.
To me, the above links (ages, documents, and locations of each) indicates Robert, Joseph, and Old George perhaps were brothers.
If this is the case, it is pretty well documented the above Robert Henry was the son of Thomas Henry born ca 1719 in Northern Ireland
and died 27 Sept 1787 and buried in Goshen Presbyterian Churchyard, Lincoln Co (now Gaston Co) North Carolina.....see worldconnet: Thomas Henry, death in 1787.
- Marriage: He married Anne Fine in 1784.

IGI has Nancy Elizabeth Hill b. Oct.31 1847 in Posey Co Indiana to Enoch Ezekiel Hill and Polly Almon.
There is a Nancy Hill who marries Mr. D.L. Bush in 1866 in Jackson Co. Illinois. This is the same county where Enoch Hill is living in 1880, and where Ruth Hill marries Mr. Batson in 1869.
D L Bush marries Mrs. Sarah Jane Pleasants in 1885 in Williamson Co. Illinois, so perhaps Nancy Bush has died. I do not find her in the 1880 census....
Also there is a marriage between Nancy HILL and James BIGGERS Aug. 31, 1876 in Williamson Co. Illinois.
