• Residence: He lived in 1880 in Overton Co., Tennessee, with Armeda Bowman, widow or divorcee of his brother George.⁵
• Note: According to researcher Doris Williford, one story is that James Parrott was murdered by his wife's brother Bud (Richardson) Bowman, who left Tennessee on the same day James was ambushed, and was never seen again. However, James died in 1868, and Richardson is still living in Putnam Co. in 1880.
• Death: He died on 2 January 1910 in Overton County, Tennessee, at age 61.⁶
• Burial: He was buried in Falling Springs Cemetery, Overton County, Tennessee.⁶
