• Note: Old Thomas Harley Micklejohn, Robert's father, was the first street commissioner of San Antonio. He was a marksman, ran with Toepperwein and Mayor Callahan - two more marksmen. The Micklejohns have a two block street off of Zazamora Sreet in west San Antonio.(from e-mail from Bob Burden, a Micklejohn descendant)
  Old Mr. Thomas H. Micklejohn had died in 1903, in Mexico. He had bought a machine shop in Torreon. He died from smallpox.
  His name in the 1860 census is listed as Thomas F.¹

• Note: A woman named Sarah was Thomas Harley Micklejohn's aunt. She died from yellow fever when the
  Micklejohns landed in Galveston in 1867. Thomas H. had to bury several of his family, including his father, Thomas Jefferson Micklejohn. Graves were in short supply, so he found plots in the Jewish cemetery.
  
  In the 1860 census, living in their household was Hannah E. Horton, b. 1843 Georgia, a teacher.¹

• Name-Marr: As of 4 August 1849,her married name was Elizabeth Barbour Micklejohn.
• Note: Her husband died of yellow fever in Galveston. in 1867.
• Note: She married Daniel Caraker in 1871 (she was his 3rd wife). She is buried in the Caraker family plot in Memory Hill Cemetery in Milledgeville, Baldwin County, GA.
