• Birth: Jacob Chambers was born on 6 January 1759 in Pennsylvania.¹

• Death: He died on 10 May 1819 in Arkansas at age 60.
• Note: He died in a drowning accident in Arkansas. He and grandson John Logan were on the Ouachita River and encountered swift water at the Caddo river convergence. Their boat overturned and Jacob drowned. He is buried on the west side of the Ouachita River.¹

• Note: He established Crowe's Station to protect the settlement from Indians. All the families of a neighborhood collected on a convenient spot, built as many cabins as were necessary for their accomodation and enclosed the whole by a stockade which was entered by two strong gates. From these stations, the men went out in companies to
  cultivate their farms, a part laboring and a part standing as sentinels or guards. in 1784.⁴

• Note: The Crowe Family manuscript gives Walter's wife as Mary Stuart of Scotland. This is also stated in grandson John Finley Corw's memoir.^2,3
• Note: His grandson's memoir says that Walter emigrated from England and settled in New Castle County, Delaware.³

• Residence: He lived circa 1750 in Delaware.
• Occupation: He was the owner of "The TUN" (also called Three Tuns) in 1762 in New Castle County, Delaware.^1,2
• Note: The TUN later became Buck's Tavern. The history of Buck's Tavern states that all three names had been used for the same tavern. George Washington spent a night in Buck's Tavern in 1778.¹
• Residence: He lived in Rockingham County, Virginia.²

• Note: He "hauled iron from a foundry to the Army, and sold beef to Army and records state that he was paid for it in 1782. James Alexander Talley^1,2

• Birth: James Alexander Talley was born on 2 August 1847 in Clark County, Arkansas.³
• Residence: He lived in 1850 in Clark County, Arkansas.³
• Note: One source says that James Alexander was sent to live with an aunt in Anderson Co. Texas after the death of his father. in 1859.⁴
• Note: The same source states that James then went to live with his uncle Bob, Robert Anthony Talley, in Gonzalez, Texas.⁴
• Milit-Beg: He began military service in 1861 in Gonzales County, Texas.⁴
• Note: He wrote a letter on this date to his sister Susan Talley Black, asking her to ask Uncle Robert (Robert M. Talley, Dennis Tally's brother) to help him get transfered into Foster's Company. This is a strong indication that James was living with Uncle Robert before he enlisted. on 20 February 1865.⁴
• Note: He came to Floresville TX because his sister Betty Black was there. Also his brother Robert lived there and was made a deputy by his brother-in-law Billy Black, according to James' grandson Claude Talley Sr. These are three siblings of Dennis Butler Tally.⁴
• Marriage: He married Martha Ann Gentry on 9 December 1866 in DeQueen, Sevier County, Arkansas.⁴
• Note: He by this time had seven children and Martha had become very ill (maybe deranged). James took five of the children to relatives in Wilson Co. Texas and left the two youngest with a married daughter in Oklahoma Territory. in 1889.⁴
• Death: He died in 1890 in Wilson Co., Texas, at age ~43.

• Note: He He is confused much with William A. or W. A. Talley. There was a William Clifford Talley who died 7-9-1931 in Matagorda Co., Texas.The name Clifford is used in James Alexander Talley's family, so perhaps this is the same person.
