Brothers Daniel and Samuel Vaughan, sons of William Vaughan moved to Warren Co. Tennessee, then Wayne Co. Missouri, where William was one of the earliest settlers, then to Crawford Co. Arkansas on the Arkansas River near Short Mountain Creek. Samuel and Daniel crossed the Boston Mountains and settled near Evansville in Washington Co. Arkansas. In 1826 they moved to Cane Hill in Washington Co. and were among the first settlers there. Iin 1828 they migrated to the Tuttle Settlement. In 1831, Samuel removed to the Valley; Isaac Vaughan still lived there in 1889. Samuel dealt largely in government claims. Daniel Vaughan lived all his live on his first claim, a short distance west of Hindsville.3
