    Gershom and Jonas of Marlboro. A petition was presented to the
    General Court expressing a desire to enter upon a new settlement
    of Worcester. The request was granted and they then commenced
    the third and permanent settlement of Worcester. Gershom and
    Jonas were called the "FATHERS OF THAT TOWN"
    A tribute to Gershom Rice appeared in the Boston Gazette
    at age 102. Barton comments: "He was one of the 'fathers of the
