    Eddy Linebarger 88, Carthage, MO passed away Thursday September 28, 2006 in Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO. Eddy was born November 29, 1917 in Barry County, MO to James Rosebert Linebarger and Flossie (Sapp) Linebarger. He was a graduate of Purdy High School, Purdy, MO, a member of First Baptist Church, Carthage and was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII serving in Okinawa and Korea. He married Virginia Lee Crane on June 28, 1942 in Springfield, MO. He came to Carthage in 1941 from Purdy, MO, worked as a cost accountant for Atlas Powder Co. for 40 years, served his church as a SS teacher for 2 year olds for 25 years and was chairman of the First Baptist Walking Group for ten years.

    Survivors include his wife Virginia, Carthage; one daughter, Amy L. Jennings and husband, Chuck, Carthage; two sons, Steve Linebarger and wife, Lydia, Arlington, TN and Jon S. Linebarger and wife, Tracy, Bexley, OH; two sisters, Hazel R. Wormington, Monett, MO and Helen R. Bennett, Purdy, MO; six grandchildren, Ryan Linebarger, Kate Linebarger, Shane Barton, Cassie Gardner, Jeffrey Linebarger and Rafe Barton; seven great grandchildren, Kayla, Morgan, Madison, Shelby, Katie, Lexie and Clay. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.

    Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Monday October 2 at Knell Mortuary, Carthage, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Knell Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Carl Garrett will officiate. Burial will be in Park Cemetery, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Berean Christian Center in care of Knell Mortuary.
